Catch Up

Catching up seems to be a recurring theme with this blog. Fortunately, this isn’t a school assignment but a luxury I can do without.

What have I been up to the last few weeks (one month and 2 days to be precise)?

Nummer eins: Work.
Recently I was promoted from slave to peon. It is actually two steps of the latter of despair (the second rung is jester – they use a funny midevil title system as testimate to their heritage). I’ve assumed a little more responsibility and was fortunate enough to go on my first business trip a couple of Fridays ago. Went to Freiberg for the largest solar energy conference in the WORLD!!! It twas actually quite impressive. Here photo:

And these are the people i work with:

We also had our yearly meeting where we talked about the progress of the firm and future strategy. I don’t have a photo but picture a volleyball court (beach) and ice cream and you’ll get a better idea of the “meeting”.

Nummer zwei:
Room Search.
Yes, I’m moving. Why, read my first post. And also why not? I will pay about the same, get a bigger room, be right smack dab in the center of the old city, and have numerous quick food alternatives within only a couple blocks! Here’s a photo showing the difference between where I live now (where the photo was taken) and where I’ll be living next week:

Nummer drei: Freibad
Important element of any German summer.

Nummer vier: Chillin’
Important element of any 23 year olds existence. Involves party, bar, concert (goofy german style), movies (I highly advise AGAINST Tom Cruise’s new flop "War of Worlds, or perhaps more appropriately titled: Plot Doesn’t Matter Because With Enough Fire and Death Portrayed in a Really Visually Sicking Manner Makes Plot Irrelevant.)
Chilling also includes the Tuebingen summer past time of "Stocherkahnfahren".

Nummer funf: Planning
What I will do when I have time off. For example: in the last 3 months of my internship I have 3 weeks vacation. It will break down into the following. 1 week family visit – Switzerland, Italy, and Croatia. 2-3 days cousin visit – something cheap. 3-4 days - Sweden Ethicomp Conference – in Linköping and about computers and ethics!! Yeee Haaaaww. And 4 Fridays that might include – Tour de France, beach, moving, and ……
I also will have about 6 weeks free time in October and November to do what I want! That sure sounds like a great time for all you’z lazy peoples to come on out and visit!

So exciting eh? Check back later from more!
